Enter Shaolin Update | The Importance of Taking Care of You

September 2, 2016 By Sifu Larry Rivera 2 Comments

WHAT'S NEW @ ENTER SHAOLIN?Hey family, how has your week been? I have this week’s new training for you. Unfortunately, I am in a rush today as a good friend of mine lost their mother 2 days ago. šŸ™

I am actually getting ready to go to a viewing and funeral today. And Jamie is about to be back on the road on her way back to NJ a bit earlier due to a Tropical Storm heading our way or she would have wrote this week’s update for me,

These past few months have been tough on me. My grandmother passed away several months ago and just last month one of my aunts passed away.

Which has been a constant reminder that we are only on this planet for a short time. It’s important to take advantage of the life you have now. Make it a priority to spend more time with your loved ones and yourself. Love yourself, take care of yourĀ health mind/body/spirit, so you can give your best in this life.

I started doing Qigong & Tai Chi, not because of the health benefits at first. I just wanted my Kung Fu to be better. It’s interesting that all these years later, now I do Qigong & Tai ChiĀ not because I want to be a better fighter, but rather because I want toĀ live healthier.

I have always felt that when Sifu Phu taught me Tai Chi that it was a gift. You can loose a lot of things in life. Tai Chi & Qigong are something that become a part of you. Nobody can ever take this gift away from you, but you.

While Tai Chi & Qigong can help cure a lot of physical and mental problems, Tai Chi and Qigong are best used as a preventative measures. This week I’d like you to figure out how you can add just 10 minutes a day of Tai Chi/Qigong training to your life.

Interestingly enough, while Jamie has been away visiting friends and family, she has challenged 2 people to the same challenge, but 10 minutes 2x a day. I hope you will take either on of our challenges as it will change your life.

Make it a daily habit or ritual you do. Morning and evenings are best, but do what works with you. If you do that and you consistently do that. You could add decades to your lifespan with easier mobility and much less stress.

Do it for you and by doing so you do it for everyone you love.

Now on to your training…
