So, you want to pursue martial arts training, but you’ve got a laundry list of reasons why you haven’t gotten off the couch and into a training program – yet.

Maybe you’re worried that you’re too-something to go to a martial arts school (as in, too old, too out of shape, too broke….). Perhaps you don’t have access to a Kung Fu school, or your schedule simply doesn’t allow you to attend classes.

No matter why you haven’t checked martial arts training off your bucket list, today’s the day to ditch the excuses and start taking Kung Fu lessons online.

Wait, what?

Yes, you can take Kung Fu lessons online. We’re not talking about the brief snippets or movie montages on YouTube; we mean real, high-quality classes taught by Sifu Phu, a martial arts master who has been training for more than 30 years. His Ngo-Dac-Na system incorporates a variety of styles to ensure his students don’t just learn the moves, they develop an in-depth understanding of the principles of Kung Fu.

Online Lessons Let You Train On Your Terms

With online Kung Fu lessons from Enter Shaolin, you’ll learn at your own pace. You’ll have complete control over how often you train and how quickly you advance. You get to choose the courses that interest you and match your training goals. And online lessons are affordable; you’ll never have to sacrifice your Kung Fu training because it’s too costly.

About Sifu Larry Rivera

Sifu Larry has been training in martial arts since he was 5. In his early years his father influenced his martial arts training. He taught him the basics of self defense, guile, military tactics, Judo and Jiu Jitsu. At age 7 his he was enrolled in Goju-Ryu which he trained in until he was 16. He took sometime off, but when he came back he decided he was never quitting martial arts again and at the age of 19 his thoughts on what martial arts was and was not got flipped when he started training with Sifu Phu and learning internal martial arts. Needless to say, he's a lifer and a guy you want on your side.

Hi friends, excellent service you have here. I actually have two black belts in: Shorinji Kempo Ryu (1997) and Sikaran (2003). And now I’m looking to learn Kung Fu and Tai Chi online because I suffer a right arm front dislocation in a Kumite in 2016 and my Dr. tell me to stop fighting for a year. Do you think I can do Kung Fu and Tai Chi without dameging my arm if I practices with control? Right now I have a full control movement in that arm, only hurts a little if I do rotational movement to the right.

    Best Regards,

I practise mainly wreastleing. My technique is mixed on the second art. How is jujitsu like Kung Fu. I more Kung Fu. My most I’m pressies with shu is a groin grapple and leveraging the arm and choking from the front. I could litteraly at one point hold them against the wall in the air. I’m solving a spilt personality while advance physical education in the arts even dancing acting and fencing. I haven’t trained in a while. Any advice.

What equipment do I need for training and do I need a Wooden Dummy (I hope I used the correct term, I meant no disrespect).

The wooden dummy has a few names, the common one used is Muk Jong or Muk Yan jong.. Wooden dummy works though 🙂

It’s nice to have a wooden dummy especially for refining your techniques, developing flow and conditioning your limbs.. However there is no need to have urgency on getting one. The rice trainer would serve you better early on…

Hi Mohan, that’s great that you want to start learning kung fu. The first place to start is in your heart. The reason I say that is because unless you have a strong conviction to train, you won’t do what you have to do to achieve your goal.

Here at Enter Shaolin we built this site with the idea that many of our family members don’t have training partners to start with. This is why we make sure to provide a good amount of solo training for you to do.

If you are serious about wanting guidance the first step is joining Enter Shaolin. From there you can schedule a 1 on 1 session with me or one of our team members to help get you started.

I look forward to your decision to join us. Join Enter Shaolin Here

I have one question about your online training program. Is there a clearly organized “syllabus” that indicates what to study in what order? (I know you allow students to choose which areas they want to pursue, but within any selected area, is there some sort of “syllabus”?) I have watched a lot of the Enter Shaolin videos on YouTube and have been very impressed, but if the online program consisted of a similar body of videos with no particular order, I would feel overwhelmed and frustrated. Personally, I need to have a highly structured curriculum and clear guidelines as to an appropriate learning sequence.

Hi John we do have a starting point. It’s our NDN 101 course, that you can either buy separately or get it as part of your junior membership or abbot membership.

I hear you about information overload…

I have been teaching Kung Fu since 2000 and if anyone is concerned about learning from an online course I can assure you that you can. Will it prepare you for a sparring session against a Kung Fu Master? Not at all, but if you do not have the ability to train locally then you can begin adding to your conditioning and understanding now. Kung Fu is hard work over time. It is not something that takes X years to learn. You will always be adding to what you know and how you understand the art. Body conditioning takes many years. Even if you were to just start by doing push ups every single day your journey has begun.

Absolutely! There’s no end as it’s a lifestyle. There’s much that can be done solo online or offline, but in the end, when the student is ready there’s that 3rd pillar of training that requires to find a local teacher, a training partner and/or come to seminars and come to visit for additional training/correction in person.
