We are going to teach you how to escape from a headlock as well as how to maintain control of the situation in this Free Kung Fu Lesson. A wrap around the neck and a squeeze-in are the two components of a headlock. Your adversary has the ability to cause you pain in both the jaw and the neck.
Getting Out Of A Basic Headlock
Key Points
- Raise your shoulders to your ears (Takes away their power)
- Take a hold of their arm.
- Wrap your free arm around the other person’s hip.
- Put your shin in contact with their thigh.
- Acquire the point of control.
Kung Fu Lessons Online – Recap of the dirty stuff!
Do not be fooled by this method; being pinched directly in the middle of your inner thigh is a sensation that is excruciatingly unpleasant.
You might also try sticking your finger up their nose.
Can I learn kung fu for free?
This is a question that is asked rather frequently, which comes as a surprise to me. On the other hand, there is no financial commitment necessary to begin training in Kung Fu. Kung fu classes don’t break the bank and are well worth the investment.
How and where you exercise are two factors that determine the degree to which you will see results. The point is if you can receive kung fu for free, do you really want to learn it when you have the option to do so? Some individuals lack the drive necessary to go through with the training required of them because of the expense involved.
Watching videos on YouTube can teach you new talents if you’re willing to put in the effort. To become highly skilled at something, you are going to need to invest a significant amount of time, money, and effort.

Hey Freddy! How you doing man? Absolutely I’d love someone else to get abused also 🙂 Are you on facebook?
Danny L says
Oh I had such a good laugh!
Larry did not see that coming. (ouch!)
Looks like he’s gonna be real sensitive whenever someone touches the inside of his thigh for quite a while. lol
Good techniques Sifu!
And thank you Larry for your sacrifice so we can learn…

The teaching is great…but the commentary from Larry, decreases the level of seriousness from Sifu to Student. Thanks again
Sifu Phu Ngo says
Larrys comment is not only valuable cause he can add an insight to what I may not cover, but he is very knowledgeable as well that adds to the videos. We would not have the site without him.
Sije Jamie Pelaez says
Hey Angel, thanks for stopping in and commenting. One of the things I love most about Sifu Phu and Larry are they are real and down to earth.
When we practice and yes even when we film, there are times that we laugh, tear up, let you know it hurts and sometimes add commentary.
Personally, I love this, because it shows we are all human! I also agree with Sifu Phu. Larry has been training with Phu for many years and not only adds to the knowledge base but also has major respect for Sifu Phu. (As do I).
I know our way is not the norm, however it is just one of the many reasons Enter Shaolin and the Ngo Dac Na system are so unique.
Happy training and blessing to you & yours!

I disagree with Angel’s comment, there is nothing wrong with having fun in class. I believe in fact that it enhances the relationship between students and instructor. I recently attended a magnificent workshop on Taijiquan martial arts training from GrandMaster William CC Chen and he was frequently telling jokes and having fun with us even though he was teaching marvelous techniques. I sprinkle in humor with my classes and am constantly told how the students appreciate my instruction and the environment I create.
Sije Jamie Pelaez says
Those are some great examples and experiences Larry, thank you for sharing your perspective. 🙂
Sije Jamie Pelaez says
Larry had me try this a few days ago… And I got it right away! It was really easy.
I will say this though… When doing the nose part be super gentle on your partner as it is easy to accidentally hurt them with little force when you follow Sifu’s instructions.

any dojo’s here in the Phx. Az. area?
Sije Jamie Pelaez says
No we do not Ron, we are located in South New Jersey. We created our online school to be able to serve those in the U.S. and around the world that cannot come train with Sifu Phu in person.
God willing one day we will have schools all over the world.
Jon Giordano says
Where are you located in South New Jersey?
Sije Jamie Pelaez says
Our office is based in Williamstown, NJ. Sifu Phu has a school in Glassboro, NJ.
Let me know, if you need anything else Jon!

Great tutorial. Are all your online tutorials that easy to follow? I’m considering becoming a member, but I wish you would not wear such bulky sweat shirts. It makes it harder to see proper form. Thank you Sifu and you too Larry.
Sifu Phu Ngo says
Hi, to answer your questions, yes, all of our instructions are in complete details of how to properly train and how not to train improperly as well. Also we are always here to help you with whatever questions you may have. If you become our abbott member, you get a whole lot more with it as well. I understand about the sweatshirts and try to wear thinner ones for you. I always wear hooded shirts. It’s just my style. We do have thinner ones now that is our site logo so we will be filming with them from now on. Any ways, Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year.

Dear Sifu and Larry,
Greetings, gotta love the headlock moves! I grasp the forearm contact with the back allowing the WRIST to execute the nose contact. Pushing IN, rather than UP was a great training tip as well. Yes, a little humor can act as a pressure relief valve between the student and instructor. A little foreplay on the thigh sure got Larry’s attention.
Keep up the great work this training lesson was superb!
