Hi family, this time of year everyone is busy running around making plans to spend time with family, etc. I want to take a moment this week to give you a friendly reminder to make sure you balance out your festivities with remembering to eat your fruits, veggies and drink extra water.
Make sure you take some time out and keep up with your training. Even if all you can do is find an extra 10 or 15 minutes a day to do some C.O.R.E. Training, Qigong and/or stretching or maybe one of your forms or two.
Just be sure to do something to take care of you, it’s easy this time of year to simply forget about your training. Remember the key to success in martial arts is consistency over time.
A Special Message For All…
Friends, it’s never too late to start taking care of your body. I recently watched a show on Netflix called “What The Health” with Sije Jamie. As I get older I keep modifying my diet so that I can live as pain-free as possible and for as long as the good Lord has intended me to live.
While I am not a vegan or vegetarian (yet), I believe there is a lot of truth in this video… Sije Jamie has been sharing quite a bit of this information since I have known her. I was hard headed for a long time but over time I see the benefits of what she has been sharing with me and seen changes in her as she has been on her health journey that has inspired me to make more healthy choices.
I hope you decide to be more open-minded than I was and do not repeat my mistakes. Enjoy this video while it is on YouTube for now & let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
If for whatever reason Youtube takes it down, you can certainly catch the video on Netflix and Amazon Video. While I am not a vegetarian, YET!! I am starting to phase out animal protein in favor of eating things like portobello mushrooms and more veggies.
And who knows, perhaps I will become a full vegetarian or dare I say even a vegan. What I do know is in just a few days of switching up my diet, I am feeling a lot better. With that said, I am not suggesting that you have to become one, I am however suggesting that you should really take a look at your diet and see what types of food you are eating that cause inflammation or are processed.
It’s also important if you do continue to eat meat, to know where your meat is coming from, how it’s raised, processed, etc. For instance, are you eating food that is loaded with hormones, antibiotics and or carcinogens? These are just some of the important questions your life quite literally depends on so you can make good choices to better your life (if you aren’t already, of course).
I believe it’s never too late to create change, each day is an opportunity to become a better version of you. So what are you doing to take your health to the next level in 2019?
Looking To 2019 And Onward
This past couple of weeks have been really rough as I battled being sick, which really made me evaluate everything Sije Jamie has been telling me for years and spurred me to make some changes. We also had equipment not working correctly and even while I write this post for you we are having issues with our website. Don’t worry though, it’s nothing that will affect your access to your lessons and we are working on getting everything back in order. The 15 members that have been affected by this glitch in our membership software have been taken care of and sent out emails to.
And while Sije Jamie should have been gone already duty called! 🙂 She said, you guys and gals are more important and she couldn’t leave without making sure the ship was sailing again. And that’s why she’s the heart of Enter Shaolin!
While she is on her FAMcation, I am also going to take a local FAMcation. But no worries, we will still handle customer service while we are spending time with family. We will not be having our Q&A for the next two weeks or an update while we are taking some time to prep and refresh for this 1st quarter of 2019.
We have exciting things we are implementing this upcoming year. We plan on bringing 3 team members into the Enter Shaolin family the beginning of this year. This will free our time up to serve you better and bring you more awesome content. We are going to give Enter Shaolin ( The Website ) a much-needed upgrade. We also are going to upgrade our video cameras to work better with our broadcasting hardware/software and much more.
As you can see we are busy, busy. We are excited what the next year is going to bring. We are so grateful to have all of you a part of our Enter Shaolin family.
As always our mission for Enter Shaolin is to bring you the absolute best online martial arts training on the internet. And to do that, we must keep growing and getting out of our comfort zone.

this movie about food, it looks like another propaganda movie, who knows how these people can be trusted and how valuable is what they say, another research done by someone else, somewhere else, can show different results and opinions…
…in general, main problem is over weight, bad habits and lazy life style in majority of people, not enough physical activity…
…read the labels on food you by, avoid chemicals as much as possible, and keep moving your body, and positive attitude should keep you healthy above statistics…
Sije Jamie Pelaez says
Hey brother, Witalis, sorry I am just seeing this. It ended up in our spam folder which we rarely check.
This movie is actually about exposing the propaganda and lies of the food/health industry, government, pharmaceuticals and organizations such as The American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association and how they are raking in dollars and not really helping anyone cure anything as well as often recommending the very foods keeping people from healing. It also exposes the ties between these organizations and why they are working together. Everything they say is factual and backed up by evidence you can go find/research yourself. For me this information is nothing new, I’ve been researching this topic since 2008. But for many this documentary is an eye-opener to things they’ve never even thought about or verified.
The things you say to do are also the things they promote for overall health and recommending we go back to our original diet. We wouldn’t recommend something that can’t be backed up. Here’s their page that links to their fact sources on each statement made: http://www.whatthehealthfilm.com/facts
Stanley Reyes Jr says
After listening to you about keeping you head from moving to keep your balance. My problem is that since I had ear surgery I have a problem keeping balance only on my right side of my body.
So is there a way that I can maintain balance since my equilibrium is off because of damage done to my ear?
Sifu Larry Rivera says
This is a good question Stanley, we will check if Sifu Phu as any suggestions.
