Hey family, how are you? I hope you are all doing great!
As you know from this past week’s update, we celebrated our Independence Day and for those following along on social media and via emails, then you also know we are having a big sale for new members and for Juniors and Seniors who want to upgrade to an Abbot membership.
We call it our Pursuit of Happiness sale, if you are reading this right now and haven’t joined Enter Shaolin yet, it’s a great time to save. Or for those that have and want to upgrade to an Abbot lifetime membership or want to share the awesome gift of Enter Shaolin with a friend or family member, here’s the link to do so: stage.entershaolin.com/pursuit-of-happiness
In the video on that page, Sifu Larry and I talk about what Independence Day means to us and Kung Fu has helped us in our pursuit of happiness, life and liberty! We didn’t plan what happened while we were at Estell Manor, we just came for some nature scenes, but clearly we were suppose to come there to film as beside the park is a Veterans Cemetery and we even stumbled upon a man that served in the Revolutionary War. Talk about synchronicity!
Here are our favorite pics from that day:
It was a humbling and amazing experience. What was great was by sharing our story, we got to hear some of our fellow fans’ and family members’ stories on how martial arts has helped them too!
I want to share one in particular that truly blessed me and I hope it does for you as well as others too. Please feel free when these posts inspire you, to share them on with others whether email, a text or via your favorite social media platform.
The information we share is just too good to keep it a secret and we appreciate all of you that help us spread the word!
Without further ado, here’s brother Duncan’s testimonial:
Hi, Jamie. I love that you are trying to make it easy to share the NDN system with as many people as possible. Now you are offering something special to vets and that makes me love you guys even more than before. Even as a lite member, I have gained SO much and I have not kept it a secret that I have been a motivated martial artist for 37 years. Even after 20 weeks of videos and daily practice, I have grown and improved more than I would have on my own.
As a veteran, ARNG 1990-1998, I appreciate anything someone does to recognize the personal sacrifice military personnel – the living ones too – make when committing themselves to serving something bigger than themselves; not just a country or a government, but a certain set of ideals that drive them to do what seems impossible to others. I served in two ways. First as a multichannel communications operator (31M) during Desert Storm then as a tank crewman (19E). Even though I was National Guard, I still had that military mindset that made it difficult to adjust to civilian life, and deal with concepts so many people take for granted. So, from all of my heart, THANK YOU! Not just for me, but for all of my fellow military family members. I hope – for you and for them – they find and see the value I have found in the information my big brothers and sister in NDN are sharing.
On a personal note, last night was the first time in 23 years that I was able to enjoy a fireworks show. Previously, the fireworks appeared as flares which are used during night battle to light up the battlefield and expose hidden enemies. My first thought when I saw them was to duck and cover. Through training myself to respond instead of react, I was able to view last night’s display with wonder and enjoyment. The Qiqong exercises also let me relax and realize I am the one in control of me, not some bright lights. As of last night, I feel PTSD free. I cannot express the level of relief and gratitude I feel for having access to information that gave the tools to accomplish these things.Sorry about the long message, but I just felt the need to let you know you and the rest of the family are making a HUGE difference in at least one humble person’s life.Your faithful student and family member,Duncan
This one was extra special to me, because my ex-husband had and still has PTSD, is bipolar among other disorders. I knew natural remedies, exercise, meditation, prayer and changing his diet could heal him. However, sadly he wasn’t interested in being healed.
It really sucked to say the least, I spent the majority of 7 years doing everything a wife could do to help her husband, but as the saying goes, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.”
So instead of healing he chose a life of addictions, cheating, being mentally, physically and verbally abusive. To say it was a challenging time in my life would be an understatement.
Hearing Duncan’s story blessed me beyond measure because while I couldn’t help my ex-husband on his healing journey, I am able to now help people like Duncan, aka the willing!
I think what if back in 2009 when Sifu Larry shot me down about creating Enter Shaolin, what if I would have gave up right then? Or what about in 2010? 2013 and so on? What if, I didn’t listen to the calling in my spirit to come to New Jersey to train in 2013 when it was clear both Sifus weren’t budging?
I mean things were not perfect, I had little to my name, had no idea when I would make my next dollar and wasn’t even sure fully where my daughter and I would be staying when we got to NJ. I could have had all the excuses, right?
But something kept tugging at my heart and my spirit, I knew I didn’t want to learn any other Kung Fu but what Sifu Phu and Sifu Larry were teaching. I knew in 2009, with no real martial arts background from a simple phone conversation, that I had found what I was looking for and I wanted to share it with the world.
I knew that the right people would see what I see, something special, something different and a system that just makes sense. I mean we shouldn’t have to struggle or fight to defend ourselves even against a bigger and more aggressive opponent. It just didn’t make sense that our Creator would make things so unfair and the great thing is energy and physics principles level the playing field and not just level it, they put it in your advantage.
How awesome is that? And all by having that faith, persistence and that spark of passion, this site was born May 1st, 2014.
And I couldn’t do it without people like Duncan, who get it and who have fought for our freedoms. It’s people like him that are why I am here today able to tell my story and share my love of this awesome Kung Fu journey.
Indeed I am blessed to be able to utilize these awesome teachings to help heal my daughter plus myself and to help people around the world just like you heal. Whether it’s anxiety, PTSD, a mental disorder, a physical challenge, etc., there is indeed something for everyone.
I tell people all the time martial arts isn’t about learning to fight someone else, it’s about learning to fight and overcome the enemy within, so the enemy outside cannot harm you.
When we continue to work on ourselves, whether mind, body or spirit, we have no choice but to keep becoming a better version of ourselves. Sure we will fall, but the fact that we keep getting back up and going back at it, that’s what separates the world changers from the rest of the pack.
I want to say thank you to all of you, whether you have joined Enter Shaolin yet or not, because without you, we simply would not be where we are today. And guess what? We are just getting started family.
For those people scared to join as a lifetime member because they’ve been burnt by some lifetime exercise program online or some offline gym membership…
Well, all I have to say is as we always say, “Unless the Internet goes away, we aren’t going anywhere. This isn’t a hobby, this is a passion, a life line and a legacy.
And yeah, we are just getting started, so keep watching on the sidelines if you want, or come and get some of this love! The choice is always yours. 🙂
Before, you get to the new training this week, I have some more goodies and tips to share with you!
Here’s this week’s Member Q&A Webinar replay:
We were having a lot of fun on this one, it was great to have Sifu Phu back from Israel and to be able to help everyone get clarity on their questions.
We covered things like how training helps you become a better version of you, how to know when to push yourself and when to rest, and so much more! The weather was getting a wee bit crazy outside and for all those cable companies saying that the weather doesn’t mess with the internet, uh yeah… We are going to have to agree to disagree! LOL
Also, Sifu Larry put up a new video for us on our Enter Tai Chi YouTube channel! If you haven’t subscribed, make sure you do so you get first dibs when they come out!

I enjoy the webinars very much. They make me feel very much more connected to Enter Shaolin. I’ve been focusing on Tai Chi since I joined and I’m starting to learn Qigong and I’m excited to see where it takes me.
