Hey family, how are you? I hope you are doing great!
It’s been an insanely hectic week here. I want to apologize in advance for being behind in customer service emails. My daughter has had a crisis on multiple fronts and I am working to make sure she is safe, healthy and productive through this challenge. Being a single mom, moments like this become even more challenging when you don’t have someone to help you truly tag team all the phone calls, talking and going in circles chasing your tail plus everyday responsibilities.
What’s been nice is I cried it out for a few hours and was able to release it and keep moving and focused on solutions. Sure I am behind on a lot of things personally and with Enter Shaolin this, week… However, at least I am not knocked down and out.
Seriously, if it wasn’t for me taking care of myself mind, body and spirit, I know I would not be able to function hardly at all and would be depressed and exhausted. And while rightfully so with all that is happening, it is awesome to know I don’t have to suffer and can move through is challenge with a lot more ease. Which also means, I can be of more use to my daughter and that is an awesome feeling.
Being balanced mind, body and spirit truly helps to weather the storm and find peace in the storm, which is so much better than being depressed, stressed out or panicking!
If you are going through some tough times and would like us to pray for you, please let us know you can put it in the comments or email me privately here. And hey, if you are the praying type, please keep Jaya and I in your prayers too! Much appreciated! 🙂
Speaking of battling challenges, I’d like to share one of our older podcasts as it’s all about challenges and overcoming them. It’s why I am not down in the dumps and able to keep moving healthy and with a clearer mind.
While the topic is overcoming depression, honestly these tips can apply to any challenge, so don’t let the title scare you off. And as always, please share this with others as you never know who could use to hear this message.

Also this week we decided due to the unknowns in my life at the moment with Jaya and Sifu Phu having a scheduling conflict, we are going to sadly have to cancel our talks at the Mpower event in Boston, MA this August. While we are a bit bummed, we know everything happens for a reason and it’s all good.
Speaking of talks, conferences, etc! We are wanting to know who all would be interested in attending a seminar this year.
We are going to be having two potential seminars, check out the details below:
- Washington, D.C. Sept. 14th, 15th and 16th, 2017
- Pittsburgh, PA Nov. 10th, 11th and 12th, 2017
Both will be slightly different.
Mainly the Washington D.C. will be our first full Enter Shaolin seminar and there will be an option for those interested to also get pre-requisite hours towards Ngo Dac Na Level 1 Certification and more training hours roughly 12-14 hours.
The Pittsburgh piggy backs the E.U.S.A.I.M.A.A. conference and will roughly 7-8 hours of training.
We will be sending out a survey this weekend and provide more details like pricing and training schedule. If we have 20 people for both we will do both or if only one is in high demand, then we will do that one.
So excited about the Washington, D.C. one as we have some awesome stuff planned!
Today we had our member’s Q&A webinar. If you were on, you know it was fun and informative! If you haven’t checked it out yet, the replay is available to you below! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this update and thank you for your patience as we go through some personal and business growing pains! Oh speaking of growing pains, we also had a couple plugins decide to go buh-bye this week, so I’ve also been cleaning up the pages and links affected. Once I can delete them completely, I have a suspicious feeling the site will be moving faster.
Did I mention that all of my daily practices for keeping my mind, body and spirit have kept me sane, energized and and finding peace in the storm? Halleluyah!
Just know I will be putting in some hours Sunday to get everything back in full swing!
Let us know how you are in the comments family and have an awesome weekend. 🙂

The Guillotine!
I tested my son 6 years ago for his blackbelt and about 4 month before that he got guillotined on the ground and it always bugged him.
I asked him if he wanted to learn how to get out of one.
Soooo I showed him the point control.
He had my wrist locked when he ducked under my arm.
He went full speed feeling for pressure resistance.
Wow! Now my morning 150 push-ups are on the back
burner for a couple days so my wrist can heal.
Sije Jamie Pelaez says
A prime example of why we should have our partner pressure test and not going as fast as they can, or injury can happen if you can’t or don’t counter in time…. You have to build it up so both of you can learn without getting badly hurt. Sorry you will be out of your pushups for a bit brother!
Here’s to healing fast!
Sifu Phu Ngo says
Hey Mark, on the bright side, your son was able to counter it. :). Sorry about your wrist
Mark B says
I got my 150 push ups this morning! Took the 2 day heal.
And when he controlled the points and did it correctly, the look on his face was priceless. When your kids are glowing of pride, I’ll take 2 sore wrists for that look and to see them have tools that work in there tool box of knowledge.
Thanks

Awesome brother, glad it only took 2 days to heal. Just know you can achieve the same glowing happy look without injuring yourself with our build up method and it will also prevent creating bad habits. Just a thought. 😉
