Today is Sifu Larry’s 40th birthday! So while we are getting our normal Friday activities done for Enter Shaolin, we are also kinda taking it easy today.
Which brings me to a few points I want to share with you.
1. Be grateful for wherever you are at right now.
Even if things seem dismal to you, find the beauty, find the good, find the lesson in it and don’t let go of it. Finding those things will bring you through those trials and tribulations victorious and further refined. Every day know you are blessed, simply because you have been given another day to get this thing called life right. You have one more day to be a better you.
If those are not reasons to celebrate… Then what is?
Each day take a few minutes in the morning, afternoon and evening to just breathe, give thanks and speak of what you are grateful for and pray for anything you need help or direction on and just breathe, listen and just be. Choose to be more.

One thing I am extremely grateful for is getting the honor to meet, befriend and grow with my BFF, business partner and now Sifu… Larry Rivera aka Sifu Larry! 🙂 I had the honor of being introduced to him by a mutual colleague back in April of 2009 when I lived states away (the power of the Internet).
A good friendship or relationship is one that causes you to become even more of you (your highest self), I believe our friendship is just that, one that keeps pushing us to be more of who we really are. I am grateful to have been blessed with a brother, friend, business partner and Sifu all rolled in to one. I am honored to be your friend and I pray I enlighten you as much as you enlighten me.
What are you grateful for today? I could go on, there is so much to be grateful for, but I want to hear from you. 🙂 You can pick one thing or let it all out, don’t be shy! Comment below this post and let us know! 🙂
2. Take it easy on yourself.
I think we can safely say that most people are their own worst enemy, and not all necessarily for the same reason either. Some people are too hard on themselves, while other do not push themselves hard enough. In either case if a person does not find a way to be in balance and at peace with themselves, they will fall short and ultimately fail.
It’s like in our Kung Fu, if you fall forward you are forcing and if you fall backwards you are collapsing. Both equally do not serve youand both will cause you to make mistakes and could get you hurt. There is a balance of just being there, not too much, not too little. Present in that moment in that space at that point. If you think too far ahead or too far behind and you are done.
Be present, don’t worry from the past, learn from it. Don’t worry about the future, take care of today.
Some of us extend others tons of grace, mercy and forgiveness, but forget to do this for ourselves. In order to be more and do more, we have to love more and that starts with loving us more. We must take care of us mind, body and soul, so we can in turn be more of use to all.
So don’t forget to take time for you, to renew, refresh, re-energize! Give yourself a break, a day of rest once a week to just be and recharge, so you can be at your peak performance.
We can be more, so why not be more right now!?
Make it a great day family, you got this!
