Developing the connection between your wrist and structure is very important to generating power in your strikes.
More specifically to supercharge your internal power you will need to understand how these two pieces of the puzzle fit together.
In this video Sifu Todd was having a conversation about the wrist and structure in a Wing Chun forum on Facebook.
The result of his conversation is what inspired this video.

Thank you Casey! Glad you enjoyed the lesson. While we are not close to New Mexico, we do have a ton more training for you inside our membership site.
One of the reasons we created Enter Shaolin was to be able to give access to Sifu Phu’s training to people around the world. If you haven’t checked out what the membership entails, you can check it out here: http://www.entershaolin.com/join

Good video, but can you go into more detail/instruction on how the wrist methodology is done…how it transfers the energy? Otherwise, very informative.
Hi Lloyd, we have more wrist training inside our training vault.
It´s great to have several different people explaining/talking about the same things in their own words. Larry and Todd , please carry on doing videos.
Will do 🙂
Could I get
clarification on the movement and wording?
When you say “move from the wrist”, do you mean the wrist is moving through space while the elbow is the hinge and the shoulder rotating or do you mean that the wrist is rotating and the knuckles move through space?
And when you say “move from the elbow”, the elbow moves through space and the shoulder hinges and rotates, correct?
Hi Courtland, I believe you have it correct.
So I have always been chosen to be the dummy for wrist locks, and have torn ligaments in my wrist. How can I strengthen the wrist to be strong without have to take time off from training? It hurts to type on the key board, or when it gets cold they hurt, I have gone to the docter and they told me to not put any force on them at all and to stop practicing.
Hi Cesar, I can empathize with that. I suggest doing a lot of Qigong because the movements will help you get blood flow in your wrist, which will in turn help you heal faster. Pay particular attention to the exercises that emphasize wrist movement.
Okay thanks I started to look it up thanks for the help
