The Wing Chun Fook Sao is one of my favorite techniques. Though throughout the years I have seen many people use this technique incorrectly.
While there are many different applications for using a Fook sau, this particular video it’s being used more as a deflection.
Another thing I would like to point out, when you watch our videos and we teach you Wing Chun techniques is that we teach them through the lens of our Ngo Dac Na family system.
What that means is often times our explanations, structure, etc. may be different than what you have been told. The way we teach techniques we is compliant with physics. Why people teach it differently, I don’t have an answer for.
We aren’t even telling you take our word for it. But we will say test and prove all things.
Definition: The Fook Sao is a Wing Chun technique that can be used as a deflection. It is more commonly used to control an opponents arms after gaining contact or bridging.
In order to do a proper fook sau you need to maintain 3 P.R.O.O.F. Basically 3 P.R.O.O.F is how we determine if our structure and techniques are correct.
Don’t know what 3 P.R.O.O.F is? Sifu Phu explains it in detail inside our training vault. If you are already a family member you can watch the video here: 3 P.R.O.O.F. Lecture
