Enter Shaolin Updates | Learn To Flow In Your Martial Art

October 14, 2016 By Sifu Larry Rivera 2 Comments

What's New @ Enter Shaolin?Hey Family, it’s that time again for your weekly updates!

Today’s thought is about being how we should be fluid and flow like water.

Regardless of the style Jujitsu, Judo, Krav Maga, Wing Chun, Karate, MMA, Thai Boxing, etc… Most can agree that you have to be fluid in your martial art of choice to be good.

While some teachers will stifle the growth of their students by re-enforcing the idea that there way of martial arts is the best way and only way…

Here at Enter Shaolin, we want to see you grow and we want you to know that it’s okay to have multiple teachers in your martial arts journey and it’s okay to train in many different martial arts too. We encourage it even! Find the things you love to train in and that will help you to keep training.

We even do multiple styles here and Jamie told someone once why we did what we do. She says, like a plumber we have many tools and when we get presented with a problem our training will help us to know which tool to use.

How many plumbers do you see with just one tool to work with? Yeah, you don’t!

And this example can be used for many professions. The point is it’s okay to learn more than one style, it just gives you more tools to work with. Each style has it’s benefits. And mixed martial arts, is about as old as time.

We continually place importance on understanding how energy works with the body, because understanding this unlocks endless possibilities in your martial art(s) of choice.

When you fully grasp what we are teaching you, things like parrying, striking, locking, anti locking, ground fighting, etc. becomes easier.

The reason why it becomes easier is because you begin to place your energy where it belongs. You start to realize and feel exactly where the P.O.C.K.E.T  (Point Of Contact Kinetic Energy Transfer) is in any situation.

Learning the Ngo Dac Na principles will help you, regardless of strength, style, etc.

In short we teach you how to be fluid and flow like water so you can be better, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, whether you do our styles we teach or others, regardless these principles simply work. That’s what really makes what we do so unique, you can apply it in any situation and with or against any style.

Up next… We are super excited to meet those who have already registered for this years E.U.S.A.I.M.A.A. Leadership Conference in Pittsburgh and for those signed up to our Enter Shaolin 2-day seminar. The bad news is the registration for the conference is filled up.

The good news is… We still have 15 spots available ready and waiting for you (if you haven’t already signed up of course), if you haven’t you can get all the details about dates, times, and register here too:  Get the details here.

Here’s a clip from last the E.U.S.A.I.M.A.A. conference in 2014:
