Enter Shaolin Updates – What’s New This Week 10/10/14

October 10, 2014 By Enter Shaolin Leave a Comment

What's New @ Enter Shaolin?Hey Enter Shaolin family I hope everyone had a good week.

One of our members noticed that we didn’t do the full opening of  the Yang Style Tai Chi Form.

Actually we forgot to add in the opening itself.

We re – filmed the opening and ended up with an extra 15 minutes of footage.

We also added a new Ngo Dac Na video on using elbow strikes,  as well as Set’s 6 and 7 of the Muk Jong form.

A common question we get is:

What courses should we take first?

That depends on what your goals are. If you are specifically interested in Self  Defense start with Ngo Dac Na, Wing Chun & Chi ‘Na. If you are more interested with health and wellness start with the Tai Chi & Qigong. If you want to better your ground game start with the ground fighting section.

If you don’t know where you should start and are open to suggestion I recommend  memorizing the 10  Qigong exercises. Memorize the Sil Lum Tao form and the first third of  the Tai Chi form.

A good start would be to run through your 10 qigong exercises (Warm Up) Do the first third of the Tai Chi form followed by doing the Sil Lum Tao Form then pick a solo training from the Ngo Dac Na section and focus on training that.  close your practice by doing exercises from the Core Training section.

The whole session should take you 30 to 40 minutes, you could train longer but try not to train less than 30 minutes.  Follow this training regiment 3 to 4 times a week. More if you have the time.  This is just one layer of your training. In the near future we will provide a more detailed approach to training.

If you have a training partner you can also incorporate sensitivity training/sparring…
