During a recent Private zoom training session, we were discussing wing chun sensitivity and Shihan David asked me if I would share 10 minutes of that training session. If you are a VIP member you will be able to find the full lesson in that section.
Using Wing Chun Sensitivity To Learn Pressure Control
I should start with, you don’t need to know the “system” of Wing Chun to learn Ngo Dac Na. There is an argument that can be made that all you really need to know are the training drills within the Wing Chun system.
This is a rather controversial idea among Wing Chun purest. However, NDN principles are universal and are not specific to any style of martial arts.
It just so happens that here at Enter Shaolin we love Southern Chinese Kung Fu. And to be honest, Wing Chun has some of the best sensitivity training drills on the planet. This video barely scratches the surface when it comes to the depths of how far down the rabbit hole you can go when it comes to understanding energy and pressure control.
Finding Your Truth
Once you master all the different sensitivity training and pressure control drill we teach you. You will begin to understand that the “way or the “truth” or however you see it in your mind is really universal and can be applied to literally everything in life.

This is one rabbit hole I am enjoying!! Great insight!! Btw, I like the YouTube award in the background 🙂

Dear Sifu Larry,
I appreciate and enjoyed the video as always. Actually it is dealing with everything we are doing in our training at the moment. We’re doing the Cham kum kog for e.q. and with the man hand in front I can feel through the pressure of my opponent when he is attacking me how I can use that energy for example to stay in contact, to take a step back -if the pressure is to strong- but ALSO to KEEP the control at the point of contact AND to use that energy. It fells really great to stay so tight and not to be overwhelmed, but to transmit the energy in a circle?! I hope that does make sense to you, too.
So: it helps me to watch the video after my training and to let the mind deal with the things I observe and you are pointing out, especially before I go to sleep.
Its unbelievable what happens over night and what the body and mind is doing with it the next day. So thank you so much for keeping up giving us your knowledge and the possibility to learn through observing.

Awesome! Funny enough when I am showering in the morning is when I have most of my mental breakthroughs. I am glad the videos are helping 🙂

A truly inspirational presentation! This is the “Wow factor” in martial arts that few comprehend, and I see that I have my work cut out for me. Thank you for your time, guidance and leadership!
Cheers,

I am glad you found it inspirational. We will continue to bring you the best we can 🙂

Great job on explaining the concept… it’s like music, you learn how to play the song by reading the music chart because the chart show you where to place the dynamics on the music. By learning how to feel the music you can create the sounds or beat that others never heard before and the flow is smooth and relaxing… making it effortless and easy.
